What is ube?

Not taro. Not purple sweet potato. The real ube.

Ube (say oo-beh) is a purple yam — Dioscorea alata — loved across Asia for its naturally sweet, vanilla-like flavour and its unmistakable violet colour.

From Manila to New York to Tokyo, ube has become the world’s most photogenic flavour. Whisk it into a latte, fold it through a bake, or churn it into ice cream — the colour and the flavour come right along.

Pure. Simple. Honest.

Grown with care. Milled with science.

Our ube is harvested at its peak, then gently dried at a low temperature to lock in its colour and aroma.

From there it’s milled to an ultra-fine, easy-to-whisk powder — one ingredient, no fillers, no added colour, no shortcuts. Just purple yam, at its most usable.

Yes. The purple comes from the yam itself — there’s no added colour of any kind.
